BALLY Reopening
Costa Mesa, CA – BALLY unveiled their new store concept in the US starting with the reopening of their store in South Coast Plaza shopping center; recognized internationally as a premiere shopping destination. The store’s remodel is the second to come after the Swiss-brand introduced its new identity at their New Bond Street flagship in London earlier last year. BALLY has partnered with David Chipperfield Architects to focus on communicating its ethos of timeless functionality and modernity, while staying true to their heritage. The brand has a legacy of working with some of the world’s most renowned architects such as Robert Mallet-Stevens, Andrée Putman, Le Corbusier, Karl Moser and Marcel Lajos Breuer.
Considered a master of modernism, Breuer designed one of the most inspiring stores on which BALLY’s store concept is derived. One of its defining elements is the stock walls in which display and stock coincide. The timber wall makes the display of the shoes boxes, the historical heart of the BALLY brand, more visible and evident. Other noteworthy features are the store’s façade and cash wrap which are made of French red marble and its decorative furnishings selected from 1950s designers.
The 2,360 square foot store is one floor and caters to both men and women expanding its product offering beyond shoes, leather goods, and accessories to now include ready-to-wear collections.
