FIVE NEW EXPERIENCES AT SOUTH COAST PLAZA
Costa Mesa, Calif. (May 2022) – Renowned international shopping destination South Coast Plaza marks 55 years of quality with memorable shopping and dining experiences.
The shopping center recently was named as one of the “101 Best California Experiences” by the Los Angeles Times and one of “27 Top Things to Do in Orange County, California” by U.S. News & World Report.
Here, five new things to do now at South Coast Plaza:
1. HAVE A (LATE) BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S
Dining at the newly opened Petrossian at Tiffany is one of this year’s most coveted Southern California reservations. The caviar- and Champagne-focused restaurant is the first co-branded venture for the two companies and exclusive to South Coast Plaza. Fine dining highlights include the Tiffany Caviar Tasting, featuring Shassetra, Ossetra and Kaluga caviar paired with a Tiffany Caviartini, the restaurant’s signature cocktail.
2. EXPLORE THE WORLD OF HERMÈS
In its new and expansive location, the recently opened Hermès flagship offers a complete vision of the iconic French brand’s collections, including décor and jewelry, and of course, the luxury maison’s legendary bags and scarves. The boutique’s design reflects Southern California’s coastal ambience, including a stunning Instagram-worthy outdoor mosaic at one of its three entrances.
3. SHOP AT THE NEW BUCCELLATI AND AUDEMARS PIGUET BOUTIQUES AND AT THE REDESIGNED JIMMY CHOO, VERSACE, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER BOUTIQUES
Recent luxury additions to South Coast Plaza’s spectacular boutique collection include Buccellati, known for its distinctive jewelry inspired by Venetian lace, damask, Etruscan patterns, and flora and fauna; and Audemars Piguet, which originated in 1875 and is famous for its coveted Royal Oak watches. Both are Orange County exclusives.
In June, Versace unveils its reimagined boutique, joining the recently reopened and redesigned Jimmy Choo and Please Do Not Enter, a curated art, fashion and décor boutique.
4. SAVOR FLAVORS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD AT SOUTH COAST PLAZA’S NEWEST RESTAURANTS
South Coast Plaza is home to an international collection of restaurants offering global flavors, including Italian, French, Indian, Spanish, Mediterranean, Chinese, Peruvian, Persian, Japanese, and more. Among the new arrivals are two chef-driven exclusive concepts: Populaire, a modern Cal-French bistro by chefs Nick Weber and Ross Pangilinan; and Tableau Kitchen and Bar, showcasing elevated New American cuisine by chef John Park. Rounding out the new arrivals are MOULIN, an outdoor Parisian-inspired café, and Collage Culinary Experience, a restaurant collective highlighting noodle bowls, egg sandwiches, gourmet churros, and Chinese culinary specialties, among others.
Prix fixe and tasting menus are a must-try for foodies. Both the prix fixe lunch and afternoon tea at chef Tony Esnault’s Knife Pleat — the only French restaurant in Orange County to receive a Michelin star — are a perfect way to take a break from a day of shopping at South Coast Plaza. Fans of the Bravo “Top Chef” TV competition show will find bold flavors and Spanish tapas by season 13 finalist Amar Santana at Vaca’s prix fixe lunch.
5. VISIT ISAMU NOGUCHI’S CALIFORNIA SCENARIO ON ITS 40TH ANNIVERSARY
A short walk from South Coast Plaza, California Scenario is one of artist Isamu Noguchi’s most monumental works. Commissioned by Henry T. Segerstrom, co-founder of South Coast Plaza, the sculpture garden pays tribute to the splendor of the Golden State landscape and the agricultural heritage of the Segerstrom family. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the sculptural masterpiece, South Coast Plaza recently produced a fashion look book photographed at the garden, now on view at southcoastplaza.com. California Scenario is located at 611 Anton Blvd. in Costa Mesa, Calif.
